Affiliate Marketing Lessons for the serious affiliate marketer |
Creating Web ContentOne of the real secrets to success in affiliate marketing or any internet marketing is creating web content and lots of it. It's by far the formula for great sales! But you can't just deliver any old content, it has to be quality information that your visitors find interesting and unique. The content you put on your site has to also do the same for the products you promote. It has to help them make a decision to buy. The information you provide can be in the form of articles, newsletters, ideas and courses, reports or anything that helps your site visitor decide to buy. By the way, a good affiliate program will provide you with information that you can post on your site or include in your promotional emails (we'll talk more about this later). Ways to Create Content You can choose to write your own content but you don't have to. If you are under time constraints. a better way may be to outsource your content to services that specialize in writing. Don't worry if you don't consider yourself a good writer, there are plenty of reasonably priced options out there. I've included several options below: 1. Write your own content Create your own unique, interesting, useful content. One of the ways to do this is by writing in your own voice. Write as if you were talking to a person across the table. Be genuine and interject personal stories, feelings and events. This not only makes it interesting, it will be unique. 2. Hire a ghostwriter to write it for you A very popular option is hiring a ghostwriter. Ghostwriters can write articles for as little as $10 an article. You may have to experiment finding a writer that appeals to you but it's an ideal way of getting content quickly and optimized with your best keywords. One of the nice benefits of using a professional ghostwriter is they will also optimize your content with your preferred keywords. Simply find a writer, provide them the topics on what to write about. 3. Use Private Label Rights (PLR) I personally like using PLR content. PLR is content that you purchase with the rights to change it and publish any way you like. Private label rights can come in the form of articles, e-courses or guides and you can use them and edit them any way you like. For example, most PLR articles come in 'article packs'. This means you can use each article separately or combine them all together to create a PDF guide. The real beauty here for affiliate marketers is that you can embed your affiliate links within the guides and give them away. Here's a quick reference sheet that will give all the great ways you can use PLR content. Also a good PLR site offers article packs and other content in limited quantities, that way you aren't purchasing something that thousands of other people purchase as well. PLR can be free or you can purchase it, I highly recommend purchasing it as the free PLR is often lacks quality. Good PLR contains interesting facts, useful ideas and stimulates thought. Below are three of my favorite PLR sites. I like to have a good variety because I use it a lot and all three are excellent choices and offer PLR in various niches.
Always edit the PLR you purchase by adding some of your own thoughts and comments. This helps you keep the content interesting, unique and in your own voice. This will also make your content much more appealing to your readers as well as the search engines. 4. Use other Author's Content Article directories like ezinearticles.com or isnare.com allow you to copy and use their articles in their directories on your website as long as you include the articles author box and links. This a perfectly acceptable way to add content to your website however website owners don't really like the idea of having to include a resource box that takes them away from their site, so this is what I suggest: Find articles that complement your site's topic but that are not in direct competition. For example, let's say you have a dating website and you want to use an article written by someone else. Find an article about dating that comes from a site that covers a different dating topic. For instance an article on 'how to save money on a date'. The viewer is not likely to click on the resource box link because they are not interested in saving money, yet you are using an article they would be interested in. Not all content needs to be written. You can use audios and videos too. Interviews make great content and they can both be audio or video. If you prefer to talk to your visitors, create an audio stream. In fact this is content that gets more attention. Until Next time, Your Partner In Success |
